Abstract Submission Guidelines

All authors must submit an abstract (200 words maximum) by the required date.
If accepted, Authors are invited to submit either

  • a paper for full peer review (up to 16 pages) or
  • a non-peer-reviewed paper (up to 4 pages)

Submissions should be received by the dates listed in the Important Dates section
and should be prepared using the Word template available above.

Review Processes

Submitting authors can choose one of the following:

Peer Reviewed

These will be peer-reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical content, relevance to conference (see Conference Programme) and readability. Acceptance of papers will be communicated to authors by email. The authors of the accepted papers will be allowed to make corrections in accordance with the suggestions of the reviewers and submit final papers by the following deadlines:

Abstract Due (up to 200 words): extended to 31st July 2022 30 June 2022
Authors Notified: 15 July 2022 (unless submitted after 30 June – see non peer-reviewed dates)
Full Paper Due (up to 16 pages): 14 August 2022
Authors Notified: 16 September 2022
Revised Papers Due: 30 September 2022
 
Non Peer-Reviewed Papers

These will be evaluated for technical content. Acceptance will be communicated to authors by email. Minor formatting and typographical corrections may be requested.

Abstract Due (up to 200 words): 14 August 2022
Authors Notified: 19 August 2022
Full Paper Due (up to 4 pages): 11 September 2022

 

How to Submit Your Abstract

Each submission should adhere to the abstract template provided and the document must be a Microsoft Word format. Abstracts submitted in other formats will be declined.

Abstract Text

All abstracts should be:
• Arial font, 11 pt size
• Single spaced
• Left-justified alignment
• Maximum of 200 words
• Do not use footnotes or superscript numbers within the body of your abstract
• Pictures, including graphs, are not allowed
• Presenting authors MUST be the one submitting the abstract. This is the person all correspondence will be sent to, and, if accepted, this is the name that will appear in the conference programme
• Pay careful attention to your wording and grammar as what you submit will be made available to conference delegates.

Title
The title should be:
• Maximum 12 words
• Arial font, 16 pt size
• Left-justified alignment
• Initial capital/lower case, not all capitals

Authors
Abstract titles should be followed by authors’ first initial then surname with presenting author listed first and in bold. Subsequent authors should be listed alphabetically by surname. These should be in:
• Title Case
• Arial font, 11 pt size
• Left aligned
• Presenting author should be listed first and in bold, with co-authors then listed alphabetically by surname

The number of presentations that the NOVEM Conference can accommodate in its programme is limited. The NOVEM 2023 Organising Committee will endeavour to accommodate an accepted submission’s inclusion in the programme but this may not be possible if the number if requested oral presentations exceeds the number of slots available.

Note: A registration must accompany all accepted papers by 23rd October 2022.
